Robert Haywood is primarily an educational consultant specialising in school leadership, school improvement, performance management, career progression and professional development with an extensive client base across the Midlands.

In addition to running his freelance consultancy, Robert is managing director of Pedagogica Ltd which specialises in e-learning products to support headteachers and senior managers in schools to develop in-house performance management and professional progression solutions. His e-learning solutions have been used in over fifty-five Local Education Authorities, LEA central services and in Forces schools across Europe.

Robert Haywood Associates is accredited by the DfES to conduct headteacher performance management reviews and assess teachers for salary progression through the performance threshold. He is also an accredited Investors in People adviser with a 100+ organisation client list.

Robert Haywood has gained accreditation as a Hay Group leadership consultancy with the licence to use their leadership diagnostic tools (LSI and ECI).

With over 30 learning programme publications for four publication houses and delivery of a huge volume of training programmes over 15 years, Robert has particular strengths in learning programme design and training trainers and teachers to deliver them. His work has been internationally recognised with conference invitations and adoption in over 30 countries. This work readily transferred to NVQ qualifications in HRD, Learning Development and Management (Level 5).

Robert has experience at policy level serving on government working parties which set the development agenda for post-16 qualifications in science and examining curriculum and assessment progression issues from GCSE to A Level. He was also very active in the development and introduction of the GCSE and Modular A-Level accreditation systems holding senior quality assurance positions for a major accreditation body.

Robert has used goal setting processes with 14+ students in secondary schools for over 15 years and was responsible for leading the Nottinghamshire LEA’s Record of Achievement programme ensuring its implementation all secondary schools, special schools and FE Colleges, working in close co-operation with special educational needs and multi-cultural specialist agencies to ensure that all learner entitlements were met.
