Andrew Ferguson has pioneered many of today’s key ideas on business enterprise and career.
Throughout the last 23 years, he has run his own business and become one of the most knowledgable proponents of self-managed careers and entrepreneurship. He has been responsible for supporting some 8,500 individuals, in addition to all those influenced by his books. His most recent LifeShift Books map the dynamics of what has become known as Work Life Balance, and greatly expand its scope. He first evolved the concept of Holistic Enterprise in 1979, integrating emotional and personal dimensions into the more conventional mental and practical approaches of C20 culture; this was the driving force behind The Breakthrough Centre & Network, founded 1988.
His 20 years of training business leaders, much of it under government financed schemes, and a 7 year spell running his own training centre with staff, premises and all the heavy demands this makes, have equipped him to speak concisely and knowledgeably from his own personal experience.
This personal experience has included reinventing and relaunching his career over the 7 years 1994 - 2001. Five years were invested in qualifying as a Business Counsellor, obtaining a Diploma in Lifeskills Counselling and being accredited as a Chartered Marketer in the first year this qualification was available (1998). Most recently he successfully completed the assessment process for the government’s “Up & Running” mentoring scheme.
Andrew’s career started with a degree from Oxford and a Management Training Career with Unilever. After this he transferred to The Pertwee Group, where he became Marketing Director at the age of 31. He was also Director of Training for URBED (Urban & Economic Development):1982-1985, and Director of Grafton (PR) Consultants:1983-1985.
Andrew is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of the Institute of Business Advisers and a Founder Member of the Professional Speakers Association.
